  1. SHOWDB by Ned Robinson

  3. SHOWDB is my first OPL program.  It allows any dbf file to be viewed in a
  4. browse-like manner, showing the first 2 fields of the database.  After 
  5. you specify the dbf file to view, you can scroll through the display.

  7. The following keys are used for navigation:
  8.  
  9. Down-Arrow      Down one record
  10. Up-Arrow        Up one record
  11. Psion-down      One screen down
  12. Psion-up        One screen up
  13. Psion-Home      First Record
  14. Psion-End       Last Record
  15.  
  16. Psion-F         Finds the first record matching your test.  You can insert 
  17.                 wildcards into the search string.
  18. Psion-G         Finds next Record
  19. Psion-R         Finds previous Record
  20.  
  21. Psion-O         Open a new file
  22. Psion-S         Setup the column spacing for the current file
  23.  
  24. Enter           Displays the first 5 lines of the datafile
  25. Menu            Displays a menu
  26.  
  27. The default column spacing is set for 23 and 14.  This works fine with my
  28. datafile that has the following format:
  29.         
  30.         Robinson,Ned...........(212) 555-1212
  31.  
  32. However, you can always press Psion-S and change these settings.  A future
  33. version will allow these settings to be saved.
  34.  
  35. For example, I also have a "Dates" file that I set to 10 and 27.
